»»View BiographyProf. A. Abdelghani is a Full Professor at the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology (INSAT, Tunisia) working mainly in the field of Microsensors and Microsystems. He obtained the master degrees in "Microelectronic Devices" at the INSA of Lyon (France) in 1994, then a Ph.D thesis from Ecole Centrale of Lyon (France) in 1997. He obtained a post-doc position in Germany between 1997-2000 in the field of biophysics. He obtained the Habilitation in Physics in Tunisia (faculty of Science of Tunis) in 2004 and a Habilitation (worlwide recognition for conducting and leading research) in "Sciences pour l'Ingénieur" in 2009 at the Ecole Normale Supérieur de Cachan (France). He organized three International Conferences in Tunisia in the Field of Nanotechnology (2009, 2012 and 2014) with the Alexander Von Humboldt Foundation (Germany). He is now the leader and principal investigator of a research group working mainly on gas sensors based on functionalized carbon nanotubes (metallic oxides, nanowires, nanoneedles, polymers) and on the development of interdigitated gold microelectrodes integrated in microfluidic cell for bacteria analysis in biologic medium. He published more than 85 papers in International Journals and supervised more than 10 Ph.D thesis and 10 masters student. He edited two chapters book in the field of optical microscopy and biosensors. Prof. Abdelghani is an editorial board member of several peer-reviewed scientific journals. He was a coordinator of Science For Peace NATO Project (2009-2011), National science Fondation Project (2009-2013), Tunisian Coordinator of Tempus-Project (2013-2016) and coordinator of a recent second NATO-SFP project (2013-2016). Prof. Abdelghani developed worldwide collaborations and industrial partnership and deeply involved in industrial applications in his field.
Nekane Guarrotxena
»»View BiographyDr. Nekane Guarrotxena earned her PhD in chemistry from the University of Complutense, Madrid-Spain in 1994. She held post-doctoral research positions at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d´Arts et Metiers, Paris-France (1994-1995) and the University of Science II, Montpellier-France (1995-1997). She was the Vice-Director of the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (ICTP)- Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (2001-2005). From 2008-2011, she was visiting professor in the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Materials at University of California, Santa Barbara-USA and the CaSTL at University of California, Irvine-USA. She is currently Professor at the Institute of Polymers Science and Technology, CSIC-Spain. She has been involved for several years on the dissemination of Science and Technology of Polymers-plastics (where she served as a member of Scientific Committee of Escuela de Plasticos y Caucho and FOCITEC or Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology). She is Editorial Board member of some materials science and chemistry journals and Organizing Committee member of Scientific Conferences/Symposia and I+D activities. She also acts as External Expertise Consultant on I+D+i Management and Policy for National and International Agencies. Her studies have been published in more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, 5 books (also co-editor) and 26 book chapters. Her research interest focuses on the synthesis and assembly of hybrid nanomaterials, smart materials, nanoplasmonics and their uses in nanobiotechnology applications (bioimaging, drug delivery, therapy and sensing).

»»View BiographyDr Md Enamul Hoque is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Materials & Manufacturing Engineering and served as Head for the Bioengineering Research Group at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. He received his PhD in Bioengineering from NUS, Singapore in 2007. He has been intensively involved in numerous research projects that are collaborated locally and internationally. His research has been funded by quite a number of funding bodies including Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Nottingham University intercampus research fund etc. He has graduated 3 PhD Students and currently supervising 5 PhD students in collaboration with some local as well as global academics/ researchers. So far, he has filed 2 Malaysian patents out of his research innovations, authored 2 books, edited 2 books and co-authored 7 book chapters. He has also published more than 110 technical papers in high impact referred journals and international conference proceedings. He serves as an editor for 5 journals, as member of editorial board for 6 journals, and technical reviewer for about 25 journals. He has been invited to deliver speeches in a number of international conferences notably as plenary speaker, invited speaker and so on. He has also organized several scientific conferences around the world assuming various roles in the organizing committees. He is an Associate Fellow to the Higher Education Academy, UK. Besides, He is a member of several professional scientific bodies including Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS), Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3), UK; Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM) and Tissue Engineering Society Malaysia (TESMA). His research interests include the areas of Rapid Prototyping Technology, Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, Stem Cells, Nanomaterials, Composite Materials, Bioenergy and Food Technology.
